Data Extraction and Transfer Application from Harmony Software

Harmony Package Used - Harmony product (Harmony™ Human Services Software), version 3.5.3.

The Application - consists of two parts:

• A front-end application- This is used to maintain providers (e.g. City of Chicago HMIS system), meta data, data mapping, schedule and to view extract log. The Data mapping function provides the capability to map database fields with XML elements so that mapping can be changed dynamically without the need to change code.
• A back-end process to extract data and transfer to providers - This process runs on a predefined schedule, and extracts added or changed data from various tables in The Harmony System based on extract dates, and connects to The HMIS web service or other provider ftp sites and sends the appropriate data to those providers.
